Feedlot &Farm

The Harding Land and Cattle Feedlot and Farm is located near the Yellowstone Rover. The farm grows alfalfa and corn used to feed the cattle. The farm is irrigated with Yellowstone River water supplied by the Buffalo Rapids Irrigation Project. We have improved the farm with buried pipe to move and conserve the water.  We have leveled fields and improved grass areas to better utilize this valuable resource.

The feedlot is on the upper edge of the farm to insure that no rain run off can reach the Yellowstone River. The feedlot can hold about 2,000 animals and provides the animals with continuous fresh water and room to move freely. Protection from winter storms is provided by many trees in our shelter belt next to the feedlot.  We have facilities here for the health treatment of cattle in the feedlot.

Along with the crops and cattle, the farm is home to the fox, white tail deer, pheasant, pelicans in the summer, and ducks and geese in the fall.
